Banter he didn’t come for,
Furtive glances at her, he snatched,
Years past with the secret yearning,
Of possibly being reattached.
Reunion of his high school class,
Was the ever clichéd event,
To fumble once again in love,
Can he now unflinchingly prevent?

Gawky gliding
An early fall broke my spirits,
Bruised my ego, than my tailbone,
A giggle from little girls emerged,
Jiggling their procession, prone.
Cushions aren’t overrated,
When balance is an alien word,
Qualities like perseverance,
Now are best left unuttered.
A trip to the skating rink
Was all that was to be,
Didn’t deem an introspection,
But, its there for all to see.
Bruised my ego, than my tailbone,
A giggle from little girls emerged,
Jiggling their procession, prone.
Cushions aren’t overrated,
When balance is an alien word,
Qualities like perseverance,
Now are best left unuttered.
A trip to the skating rink
Was all that was to be,
Didn’t deem an introspection,
But, its there for all to see.
