Laughter refreshes me,
I can laugh well and heard,
Humor is a part of my life,
In laughter, I let down my guard.
All humor is well taken,
Sarcastic humor let loose,
There’s slapstick comedy
That fails to laughter effuse.
Laughter used to bind us,
Those little sparks dulled,
Over the years, with age.
Still, the bond of laughter is unequalled.
GRATITUDE PROMPTS BY POSITIVELY PRESENT
Growing up where I did,
Resting was frowned upon,
Everyone kept on working,
To dusk from the start of dawn.
You can have a pause
Briefly, to catch your breath,
Then, you snap out of it,
To keep at it, was the strength.
A guilt still haunts me,
When I sit, doing nothing.
Unlearning those lessons,
From my brin, been sloughing.
While very bonded I am,
I crave connections too,
But pets and animals,
For me, doesn’t do any ado.
I admire them from afar,
I smile at others’ joys,
I can’t own one for me,
No matter what the ploys.
I am fond of baby elephants,
To revel in the nature
Don’t bring one near me,
But, I can’t of me, denature.
While I lack in talent,
Of musical aspirations,
Avidly, I listen and track,
The myriad of compositions
I can sway in joy,
And, cry copious tears,
I relish the trips into
The past many years.
A feeling of tranquility,
That envelops me,
There’s nothing like music,
That can set me free.
Unlike the fake listeners.
I don’t gesture and extol,
My music, like everything else,
Is deep within my soul.
A slew of emotions
Are floating about
My brin is like a
Forever inside-out.
Regret to hurt, with sadness,
Then followed by gratitude,
I talk my brain into joy,
While the sadness remains stewed.
There are days when I feel,
The brain within hurts,
Emotions overwhelm,
And information amerces.
Love is my strength,
I love deep and hard,
Even when my heart is broken,
I love with the shards.
I don’t have any hate,
I don’t hold a grudge,
Forgiveness is my crown,
My path is a hard one to trudge.
Battered by the storms of life,
I still hold my head up high,
There shall never be a day,
When my love will go dry.
If you cut me open, you will
Find kindness in abundance,
Every cell in my body is
In generosity, an indulgence.
I never want for me,
I seek to forever give,
Kind, I know I can be
My heart is like a sieve.
Everyone who crosses my way,
Gets a dusting of my big heart,
I don’t force it upon me though,
Of my being, it is just a part.
In the eyes of the beholder,
It always is abstract,
While in some, it creates joy,
In others, it distracts.
I never was in the reckoning
For the tag of ‘beautiful’
I like me, and how I look,
What I thin, is irrefutable.
More of it, I see around me,
In nature, in things and
Occasionally, in the people around.
Beauty, its worth is panned.
I am unique, on of a kind,
Memories keep me alive,
Remember, I do a lot,
And the mind is on an overdrive.
There’s none better to remember
Than my grandmother and me,
But, the curse of the fate,
The brain cells are now debris.
Each of my possessions have
A memory associated to it,
I love how it makes me
And brings up those tidbits.
Songs, I hear, too have events.
That are tagged along with them
Words, melody and lyrics,
Brings smiles or tears, therefrom.
I guard me like a bulldog,
I value my privacy a great deal,
I don’t crave for attention
Fame doesn’t have great appeal.
A circle of few, a tight fistful,
That’s all I have to call mine.
I listen well to one and all
But, to hardly any. My heart aligns.
I believe that no one cares,
My lack of self-esteem tricks me,
I consider myself a burden,
And, that is my insecurity spree.
My ancestry is a blessing
With great genes I began
The common ailments of many
Isn’t seen in my clan.
In great shape, I am
There are no complaints
All I seek for, strive to,
Is for my mind to restrain
In constant state of gloom,
An apprehensive angst,
That’s been how I am
Clutched in misery’s pangs.
A day without engaging
In something out of routine
Something to spark some joy,
A day’s worth is demeaned
A poem here, a painting there,
A craft session, be it online
A dream of mine, a soul space
For my pursuits, a shrine.
The dearth of talent that I have
I make up for it, by count
Completion is now my goal
And, to be in peace is surmount.
A blob of time, is all I want
With her, him and them
The people who I want most
From whim I stemmed
Precious moments captured
In between life’s grind
The smiles, the memories
Within my mind, now confines.
Holding the bull by the horns
The moments are fleeing,
House are long, days fly
Times again are a repeating.
Quotes are my crutches,
That prop me at all times,
I live through them
I seek strength betimes.
Through them, I strive
To solve and salve mt despair
In them, I find answers,
Through them, I say a prayer.
Cliched quotes they may be
But, this moment is key,
When they fall into place,
I hold on to that in glee.
Work is my bread and butter,
And, at one point, my identity.
I slowly detached to ease,
And, seek some serenity.
A career, I am not sure.
But paychecks, I did secure,
A life devoid of hardships,
And, stability was an allure.
Now, in times of turbulence
This gives me unwavering support
When everything falls apart,
My work, holds up the fort.
Some kindness, some strength
A lots of ups and some downs
While others pelt me with hurt
My work hands me flower crowns.
Everything around me feels
Heavy to carry today
I write like there’s no tomorrow
To will my fears away.
I hold in my hand,
A glass half full
While society makes me believe.
It is barely a spoonful.
I am my own strength
I hold me up, when I fall
I have my own circle,
They are at my beck and call.
With all these about me,
I never project my woes.
Upon anyone else ever,
Then, the others, I repose.
Rains refresh me today,
There’s a lingering mist
I close my eyes tight
And breathe in the air.
The droplets on me are few,
A sudden chill pervades
Ther tiredness melts away
The heart feels light.
While there is a nip
In the autumn air
The warmth within
Slowly rejuvenates.
Like nature, I learn,
To rest, let go, release
All that’s not essential
For later, when I can
While the world around
My small abode burns
I seek solace in myself
A moment where I can ease
The night knows only
Discontent and doubt.
The unveiled eyes are wet
A gaze held captive
With the remorse of love
And burden of regrets
I close my eyes slowly
Breathe deeply once.
I feel it leave me
The toxic shroud that
Envelops my days
A beseeching cry I’d let out
Peace, peace and peace
Which is all I seek
