Maintaining a decorum of civility,
In times of such blatant senility,
Futile is any attempt to please,
There isn’t a moment of peace.
When one ignores the raised query,
And, the imposed gag order gets weary,
With the selfish intentions overpowering,
Relations, I predict to begin souring.
Omitting the possibility of joy,
Success, to achieve, is the ploy,
Amidst it all, lives get destroyed,
Hardly a moment, thereby enjoyed.

An improbable trip
Glitter and glue took me
On a delayed voyage back
To childhood that was free
Incomparable to life now.
Skeletons in closet, none
That could come to bit,
But there wasn’t much fun.
With life’s whats to be done.
Elephantine fear about things,
Held me back from gaiety,
But soared away on the wings,
Of childish fertile imagination.

Incomparable to life now.

With life’s whats to be done.

Held me back from gaiety,
But soared away on the wings,
Of childish fertile imagination.

A capricious rebel
Temperamental programmers,
Losing their grip on life
Coding software syntaxes
They see their life passing by.
Preference they seem to have,
For machines over humans,
And the last thread of sanity,
They begin to lose it then.

A limerick I spout
A man who was proud of his clout
He believed was due to his snout
He walked around in pomp
Expecting an easy romp,
But life trounced him to a rout.

Not days, years...
Not so young, groom and bride,
Both were their parents' pride.
Tall, handsome and dignified,
Subdued, gentleness personified.
An articulate mind, inured,
A silent one, firmly moored.
Woven together, tapestry of lives,
Joy from the other, each derives.
A growing family ensued,
Toward better life, to collude.
Careers put on hold, when needed,
Family's calls were timely heeded.
Days went by, with some U-turns,
Speed bumps causing concerns.
Dedication to each other shone through,
As goals were steadily pursued.
Years passed by them swiftly,
As they busied with life deftly.
Every passing day is a wonderful sign,
Of their togetherness, a shrine.
A intricate woven tribute this forms,
As they continue to weather storms.
HappyAnniversary to you!

Cataclysmal calm
Just the word ‘alter’ triggers,
Something filled with rigors,
Of life, as I know, an upheaval,
Change from things primeval.
A fondness for change, I have not.
Customary stirs my proverbial pot.
My unattainable reverie is to seek,
Tranquility if I can manage to eke.

Delicious delightful diversion
A burst of cold misty spray,
Made the little one's day,
A slurpy lick of ice cream,
Made him, with joy, scream.
A ride in the carousel,
His fear did slowly unravel,
Sight of a flock of birds,
Brought forth string of words.
Penguins, peacock and hawk,
Sweetened the little one's gawk.
Bison, leopard and a big bear,
Cougar and panda in the fare.
Pheasants, silver and golden,
His gait now did embolden,
A sip of water before a content nap,
The day was a feather in his cap.

Elusive consistency
An erratic life I lead,
Schedules barely met,
Meals skipped aplenty,
Disarray constantly beset.
Dreams about organized,
Structure in arrangement,
Method in madness I hope,
Stability is the intent.
An omen, I wait for,
the changes to effect,
The luminous inspiration,
As I anticipate to perfect.
