I can't forget to remember

While days go on,
with things to keep engaged.
Amidst it all, comes one
that time can't assuage

The guilt of moving on
A day no longer condoled,
All that gnaws at the heart
while a brave face is donned.

Conversations don't feature
her as much these days
But a picture remains
to remind us of her ways

Gone too early, too little time
Quests, many left to conquer.
Though a full life she did lead,
to that everyone will concur.

A small gesture I create
A token verse of respect
But, nothing is ever enough
while tears flow unchecked.
