Beyond chums

Friendships blossom and bloom,
Days and hours they consume,
Old memories are exhumed,
Laughter left off, resumes.

Childhood BFFs stay that way,
Age doesn’t dim the cliché.
Toward each other, they sway
Miles between them fade away.

No matter where life leads,
Into joy, friendship feeds,
contentment also it breeds,
Fulfills even unknown needs.
