Her heart is like falling leaves,
Today, as someone close leaves.
Time together spent has come to an end,
Taking along the memories, he leaves.
The history between them is long,
For her to go, she needs her leaves.
She stood waving, in the narrow alley,
Eyes following his steps on the strewn leaves.
Just the other day, Just someone said,
Goodbyes are always hard, when one leaves!
how perfect, it is even worse when you cannot bid adieu..beautiful,thanks, UL
ReplyDeleteThe "just another day" line got me. Because isn't every day "just another day" in the overall scheme of things? Life goes on... even for the brokenhearted.
ReplyDeleteVery nice take.
I had a feeling this was a 'type' of poem,.
ReplyDeleteDUH.. ghazal! great job!

ReplyDeleteawesome!!!... thank you for the ghazal i am still trying to write one and with every one i see it helps to better understand the whole concept... the way you've used leaves is just terrific... you have a beautiful way w/words...
ReplyDeleteNice. Brings out the emotion well.
ReplyDeleteWell done! as if the ghazal wasn't hard enough to do you managed to combine another prompt too - What I really like though is the fact that each couplet can be read as a stand alone piece..
ReplyDeleteThe last stanza is breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely work. :)
