Frigid fury

Grave warnings abound,
Storm watch and wind advisory,
Weathering pre winter storms.
Mixed precipitation pelted hard.
Slushy dirty snow flooded
Automobiles and people alike
Howling winds compete
For their share of damage,
Mother nature on an offensive
Ripping power lines apart,
Trees fall like toothpicks,
Manpower stands no chance
People lithely cancel plans
And patiently await the calm

  1. Yes, nothing beats nature - in many ways. Nicely put.

  2. I like these thoughts on the weather. So true that our plans are at nature's mercy.

  4. It does fit with the weather we're having. Nothing like weather to bring thoughts and conversations together.

  8. Gorgeous, no doubt. A very well thought out piece that flowed right into my movie like mind.

  10. A good poem, very descriptive. Makes me paradoxically sadly glad to live in middle England, in relative safety from such forces. Very nicely expressed. Take care. Bye.

  11. you've captured the weather's fury so perfectly and the helplessness people must endure because of it. we are always at mercy of the weather, aren't we? hope all is well.
