Nip in the air

Carelessly fondling my gloves,
A slight pull to my hat
I set out of the door

With a rude kick to my face,
The breezy chill awakens me,
Sending a harsh shiver down

Sumptuously dressed in layers,
I ready myself for the freeze,
Winter snuck up on me, uninvited!

  1. No matter how ready for winter, we are never ready for winter...

  8. it may be cold but once you are "sumptuously dressed in layers" it is that snug, delicious, warmth that negates the cold. Good job getting the senses responding in so few words.
