Middling mediocre

Life in the conveyor belt,
A foggy befuddled existence,
Mundane weeping and whining,
Visions of utopia in the distance.

Confidential decisions in the making,
Trade off made in umpteen’s,
Customers of mindless consumption,
Dreaming of charmed ways and means.

Sticker shocks and celebrity interviews,
Blur the lines between reel and real,
Ransacked clean, mind, end of the day,
Such travails are a middle class deal.

  1. There is truth in your words. That unreachable Utopia in the distance drives consumerism. Excellent write.

  2. I love this line:

the lines between reel and real

    Wonderful word play.
