From under the covers,
Your shiny face peers out,
Once you get started,
There is no looking back.
Previously, you were bulky,
A new avatar, you are sleek,
Change you did always,
In response to every fad.
Your speed makes me dizzy,
But your performance is key,
No matter what you will become,
I will adore the way you are
Maybe one of these days,
Technology will breathe life into you
Until then, my laptop, you will remain
My precious, inanimate friend!
I like this love affair with your laptop. You kept me guessing till the end!
ReplyDeleteyou gonna hate my post
Think you led the way to figuring it out :) I name all my computers and laptops but always the same name
ReplyDeleteI think I need a laptop now. ;) Delightful poem!

ReplyDeleteWell, laptop wasn't my first thought, though it probably should have been. I've fallen asleep with mine before a time or two O:)
oh, that is very good... from under the covers..
ReplyDeleteHow cool is this one? Had me guessing to the end. The love affair a writer has with their computer. I was standing in line with mine last week at Best Buy for a repair of Windows Vista problem. Quite a timely and personal piece for me. It was even better the second time I read it.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY THURSDAY!
I really enjoyed this poem. It is cute, and well written. I loved the ending.
