Started out with a keepsake collection,
An innocent hobby that was worthwhile,
Soon turned into a dangerous obsession,
Restless in the mission to stock pile.
There is always a fine line of division,
Between various states, for mankind,
There is realist and from it deviation,
Putting us all in a constant bind!
I have always been intrigued by the fine line between rational collecting and obsessive accumulating.
ReplyDeleteYou do well with your poetic exploration of it.
I love the title.

but at times I am a hoarder, which I am trying not to do.
very good poetry.
Love the way you worded this!
ReplyDeleteinteresting contrasts... reminds me of my aunt and her thousands of elephant statues... good work, K
ReplyDeletePerfect portrayal of people and their obsessions. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI've never really understood the "collectibles" markets. My mother-in-law did that for a short time, thankfully not obsessively, but so much money spent on stuff that became a lot of junk to move/discard when they finally moved to a smaller home.
ReplyDeleteYou describe it perfectly.
